If you’re finally ready for some cooler weather and pumpkin-spice everything, one way to get into the fall season mood is with a change in hair color. We know that many of you may be a little hesitant to commit to a new hair color when it might get more difficult getting into the salon if restrictions are reinstated during winter, but we’ve put together some great low-maintenance hair color options so you can still enjoy stylish hair color without the extensive upkeep.
Stunning sombre. You can get the amazing gradient color of an ombre without the frequent maintenance with a sombre. There’s less need for touch-ups because, with a sombre, we use your natural base and stay within two to three lighter shades at the tips. There’s little to no grow out at the roots and the sombre will fade with style for a low-maintenance option.
Brunette lowlights. Give your brunette base attention and dimension with lowlights. Rich expresso, deep mocha, and roasted chestnut are all hot lowlight hues to liven up your hair this season. Your Special FX stylist will stay within one to two shades of your natural base color, so it’s a low-maintenance look but still adds lots of depth and dimension for an amazing look that lasts even as your hair grows out.
Gray-lighting. If you’re tired of the upkeep of constantly covering your grays – look to add gray highlights and lowlights to your hair. We’re seeing a lot of gray tones this season, so embrace your natural grays by adding shades of gray to blend seamlessly into your hair. This gray-lighting technique requires less maintenance than covering your grays and will give your hair a classy look through the entire season.
Autumn copper. If you want to add red tones to your hair without committing to a vivid all-over red shade, this warm copper might be what you’re looking for. You can either start with a light brown base and add spicy copper for an all-over warm look, or you can have us add subtle babylights of copper, spice, and red tones to give you just the right amount of red contrast for a great multi-dimensional style.
Golden caramel. Whether you’re a blonde and want to go darker for the season, or a brunette and want to brighten up your color, ask your Special FX Salon stylist about adding caramel highlights or babylights to your hair. It can deepen your blonde base with less upkeep than an overall color. For you brunettes, it’ll give you a sun-kissed look that’ll last all winter long.
Vivid dip-dyed ends. Looking for a low-maintenance color doesn’t mean you have to give up the bold colors. You can color your tips in a racy red, emerald green, rich violet, or any color you choose for a hot look for fall. You can simply let your tips grow out or trim the ends when you tire of the color!
