When Andrew Velberg isn't working, you might find him on the beach at Aptos romping with Andra, Kamoli, and Bebe.
His three Rottweilers are a big part of Drew's life; in fact he refers to them as his children. Eight-year-old Andra is the mother of Kamoli, and stepdaughter Bebe completes the family. It is Drew's affection for his dogs and everyone that he comes in contact with that endears people to him.
Drew is a first generation American. His parents came from the Netherlands to America just a year before their third child was born. Growing up in San Jose and attending Live Oak High School was good, Drew said.
His long-time friend, Denise Briones has this to say about him: "Andrew is like a brother to me, and like an uncle to my children. He is such a special warm and funny person! We have known each other since we were three years old. I love AndrewÕs sense of humor and he makes me laugh. It is wonderful to be able to work every day with someone you are so close to."
