When you stop by our nail room at Special FX for a manicure or pedicure Rebecca Gatto or Jackie Rains will be there to serve you. Of course you all know that Jackie is Denise's mom, and both she and Rebecca will give you a relaxing, healthy manicure. The cheerful atmosphere and professionalism makes it a pleasure to visit. Drills are never used in our nail room. When drills are used at other salons, there is a chance that blood could stay on the tool and infection or disease could be transmitted from one client to another. Rebecca and Jackie say that they see people who have come from other salons and have been cut by the drills.

"This can cause spread of hepatitis or even the aids virus. It is important to us that we use the healthier, more sanitary, and gentler approach," Jackie said. "In order to insure the high safety priority, the pedicure station is sanitized after each use, instruments are soaked to sterilize, and antiseptic is applied to nails with each service."

Each of the nail technicians has at least 16 years experience in their field, enabling them to provide the expertise necessary to deal with all types of nailsÉfrom natural to artificial. "We enjoy working with your natural nails, and help you to build strong, beautiful nails that you will enjoy in your active lifestyle. And if you choose sculptured nails, we do much more than just fill in at the cuticle. We can help you with tips with overlays, sculptured nails, tips with silk wraps, and many beautiful color changes," Rebecca said. Specialized services for both women and men include:

Sea Salt Manicures and Pedicures. This process is a soothing, revitalizing facial for hands and feet exfoliating the skin and leaving it soft and hydrated, while the aromatic essential oils provide a rejuvenating and calming experience.

Paraffin Manicures and Pedicures. To re-hydrate extremely dry hands and feet. As the therapeutic heat envelopes the hands or feet, it penetrates deeply increasing the blood supply to the area. This locks in moisture drawn up from the lower layers of the skin and is excellent care for damaged cuticles or just to maintain silky soft skin.
